EP Senior Ministers' Fellowship (20 Feb)

Rev Jackson Wan

Our Senior Pastors feed our flock with God’s Word and extends God’s care to us every week. Who feeds our Senior Pastors and cares for them? By God’s grace, the answer is many, for I am sure many members of our EP churches care for their pastors too.

Nevertheless, one of the ways EP Senior Pastors have been cared for is through the ongoing Senior Ministers’ Fellowship, when we gather bi-monthly for a time of sharing, prayer and mutual encouragement.

Sometimes, the Senior Pastors do activities together - last December we went for a walk. On February, this being our first meeting for the year, we enjoyed meal-time together. After all, didn’t our Lord Jesus often fellowship with His disciples and followers over meals?

We thank God that the new Synod Office at One Holland Village has restaurants upstairs where we can dine heartily, and private offices downstairs where we could share and pray intimately together.

It was apt that Rev Kien Seng of True Way Presbyterian Church shared a devotion based on the most famous meal Jesus had with His disciples – the Last Supper. Just as Christ had His body broken, for us to be part of Him through the remembrance of the Last Supper, we were reminded to be broken for others, so they may find spiritual nourishment and to be filled up for growth in Christ.

Just as the senior pastors consistently spent time in prayer for one another, may the members of EP churches join together in prayer: that the Lord will humble our leaders before Him, as they lead our churches in the unity of the Holy Spirit, the example of Jesus, and the worship of our Heavenly Father, as one family in the kingdom of God.
