The EP Art of Marriage (AOM) Retreat was held on the 1 – 2 May in Village Hotel Katong.
This was well attended by 14 couples: most of whom were EP pastors, elders and leaders. The feedback on this Retreat was overwhelmingly positive, and several participants expressed a hope to bring this course back to their home churches.

Over 6 video sessions, and 3 workshops, the participants were inspired to continue to establish and strengthen their marriages in Christ's love.
The course concluded with a meaningful act of participants renewing their marriage oaths to each other.
Here are some ways the retreat impacted its participants, in their own words:
Renewed Perspective on Spouse
Participants described gaining a fresh, spiritually grounded view of their partner.

"We learned to understand ourselves better and why we react in a certain way to our spouse that led to misunderstandings. We also learned to see the spouse as God's perfect gift for us."
"Helps us to renew our mind to view our spouse as God's best gift for each other."
Intentional Communication & Reflection
Participants highlighted that the retreat created structured time and space for conversations that busy married life rarely affords.

"It gives us time to sit down and talk and not get distracted by the routine stuff."
"A good check on our marriage and to allow us time and space to re-examine and talk about areas in our marriage that can be enriched."
"To open up more in our communication, even about the harder topics."
Renewal of Marital Commitment
Many respondents described the retreat as a meaningful opportunity to recommit to their marriage and to God.
"The retreat has really helped us to renew our vows! From now on, we are reminded to include Jesus in our marriage."
"It was a great opportunity for us to reflect on our marriage together... Most of all, we recommitted ourselves to God and thanked Him for keeping us and sustaining us in marriage life."
Biblical Framework for Marriage
Participants valued the biblical grounding of the content, particularly around
understanding roles, responsibilities, and handling conflict in a Christ-centred way.

"This event helps me to acknowledge the mistakes and the correct way to handle it in the biblical way. God is love indeed."
"A continuous reminder of our roles and responsibilities as husband and wife in Christ."
Healing & Personal Growth
Some participants described deeply personal breakthroughs, with experiences of emotional healing and grace that went beyond relational skills into personal transformation.
"This was a session for me especially — experiencing healing upon healing, grace upon grace. I am very thankful."

Beyond that, participants also appreciated the intimate, couple-focused format, which made the experience more personal and safe. All in all, participants indicated that they benefitted from the event, and they expressed gratitude to the organizers.
May God continue to be the centre of our marriages!
